What the site does, what its numbers mean, and what they do not mean.
HomeGrade reads public registers and presents what they say about a home, together with figures we compute from them. It is information, not advice, and not a survey.
Grades and scores are the register's own. Costs are the register's indicative ranges, which are national figures rather than quotes. Points per measure are estimated from the whole register and rescaled to each home's own certificate delta, so the total is the register's figure and the split between measures is a model. Value estimates are index-adjusted from the last sale and are not valuations.
Grant amounts and eligibility come from our registry, which records the date each scheme was last verified against its own source. Schemes change and close. Always confirm with the scheme before committing money.
We pass a quote request to certified installers. Any contract is between you and the installer; we are not a party to it, and nothing is booked until you accept a quote.
Registers contain errors, and we correct what we can detect — impossible scores, impossible floor areas, potentials worse than the present state. Where a figure cannot be trusted we show nothing rather than a number. If something about your home looks wrong, the certificate itself is the record to correct.
